Krohn Racing announced today that it would partner with Michelin Tires for their European Le Mans Series (ELMS) and 24 Hours of Le Mans entries in 2015. "We are very pleased to announce our continued partnership with Michelin into the 2015 ELMS season, alongside an invite from the ACO for the 2015 24 Hours of Le Mans," said Krohn Racing Team Manager Gary Holland. "We have conducted an intensive test program over the winter which involved a tire comparison which we believe will stand us in good stead for this season. The LMP2 category is stronger and bigger than before and we are looking forward to getting started alongside Michelin." "Michelin is very happy to be Krohn Racing's tire partner in the new challenge, the LMP2 class in the ELMS championship and manager.Le Mans 24 hours," said Jerome Mondain, Michelin endurance racing manager. "We have a long history with Michelin and are glad to continue this partnership with them," said team owner/driver Tracy W. Krohn. "We feel Michelin is the right tire for our Ligier-Judd entry for both the ELMS series and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. They have always provided good support and this year will be no different." The 2015 ELMS schedule includes: Silverstone, England, April 10-11; Imola, Italy, May 16-17; Red Bull Ring, Austria, July 11-12; Paul Ricard, France, September 5-6; and Estoril, Portugal, October 17-18. The ELMS test will be held at the Paul Ricard Circuit on March 23-24. Krohn and longtime teammate Nic Jonsson will pair for all the races and Oswaldo (Ozz) Negri, Jr. will join them for four of the five ELMS events. The next race for the Krohn Racing team is the 12 Hours of Sebring Fueled by Fresh from Florida at Sebring International Raceway, Sebring, Fla., March 19-21, 2015.
