Aside from a lingering brake issue, the team is happy with the car's balance and confident in its performance for the ten-hour competition. The Krohn Racing crew will work tonight to solve the minor issue and compete race preparation for tomorrow's race.
Team owner/driver Tracy W. Krohn will start the race, which goes green at 11:15 a.m. EDT, before rotating to co-drivers Bertolini and Nic Jonsson. The Krohn Racing team is seeking a repeat of their 2011 Petit Le Mans class victory in the 10-hour race. This will be the team's first IMSA TUDOR race since the Six Hours of Watkins Glen in June.
ANDREA BERTOLINI, Driver, No. 57 Krohn Racing Ferrari F458 GTLM:
"The car is good. The guys did a really good job of balancing the car and the tires warmed up really well. We are looking at a brake problem that we've had since yesterday. We were not able to test the car and get the drive time we needed this morning because of the rain so the problem is still there since yesterday. With a race like Petit with a lot of traffic, overtaking a car will not be easy. We will fix the issue because the car is really good. We have a good engine and the team did an amazing job, like always. We have maximum focus right now with the braking. Tomorrow we hope to do something like at Sebring and fight at the end for a podium. Now I am really focused on checking the data and understanding the issue to find a solution."
TRACY W. KROHN, Krohn Racing Team Owner/Driver, No. 57 Krohn Racing Ferrari F458 GTLM:
"Andrea qualified the car and did a really great job. We've been having problems with the brakes this entire week so we're not quite sure what is the exact issue. We thought we had it solved, then it came back again last night and it wasn't any better again today. I'll be starting in the car tomorrow. The weather is supposed to be good. We'll see if we can't win this whole thing."
HAYDEN BURVILL, Krohn Racing Engineer:
"Anytime you have an issue, the strength in a team is being able to solve those problems. We've got the right group of people to solve the problem. As soon as we understand it properly, we'll make some choices to solve it. I'm satisfied with the balance of the car in qualifying. Our limitation was brake performance and so now the team is focused on identifying where our brake problem is located. Aside from this, we have a really good race car."
