Imola, Italy (May 17, 2015)...The Krohn Racing team of owner/driver Tracy W. Krohn, Nic Jonsson and Oswaldo (Ozz) Negri, Jr. drove another clean and steady race to a fifth-place finish in Round Two of the 2015 FIA European Le Mans Series (ELMS) today for the 4 Hours of Imola. The popular American team came into the second round of the season in fourth place in the LMP2 class points and maintained that position with their fifth-place finish at the Autodromo Enzo and Dino Ferrari circuit four-hour ELMS race in Imola, Italy.

The trio finished in fourth place at the inaugural round at the 4 Hours of Silverstone in April and carried that momentum into today's race.

Krohn, from Houston, Texas, qualified the car early today in the 10th position on the grid, when the team engineers decided to use the session as an additional practice session for the team owner/driver, who was making his second appearance at the 3.050-mile/4.909 km Italian circuit.

Negri started the car and ran as high as second before turning the car over to Krohn in the fourth position. Krohn had a solid drive, shaving seconds off the pace of the lead car before passing the driving chores to Jonsson, who took the Ligier JS P2 to the checkered flag. Good pit stops and clean racing aided for the Top 5 finish.

TRACY W. KROHN, Krohn Racing Team Owner/Driver:
"For practice day it rained during the morning session and it dried up a bit for the afternoon session so we worked on the set-up. Because I needed the extra practice time, I qualified the car. The car got a little better after qualifying when we made some changes. I think we had a fairly good car at the start of the race and I think we had a pretty good race. We didn't have any real trouble or anything; we just weren't quick enough this time. As we've improved, so have other teams, but I think we're still running fourth in the championship. I was actually quite pleased with my own performance and Ozz and Nic did their normal usual good job. I don't really have any complaints and I think the team did a really good job. We just need to continue to make the car a little faster and we'll work on that at Le Mans."

NIC JONSSON, Krohn Racing, Driver:
"It's been pretty hot here all day, but we had a good, well-balanced car, so it was not too hard to drive. I got in third and tried to maintain position. I think we gained position up to fifth. We have to be pretty happy with that finish. The guys did a phenomenal job with pit stops. They gave us a really good car this race. We were able to run a very good pace and were pretty quick out there for most of our stint. We are very happy with fourth place at Silverstone and fifth today, and I believe we maintain a good position in the championship, so job well done."

OSWALDO NEGRI, JR., Krohn Racing, Driver:
"Going in we thought we had the right set-up on the car, but with a much different type weather today because it was a lot warmer today than yesterday. We had to do double stints and I had to go as long as I could trying to pick up spots, but it was a very good first couple of stints. I picked up quite a few spots and at the same time, they were giving me the fuel number I had to match and also making sure we had tires for the entire two stints. Again, at the beginning of the race it was extremely hot, so a couple of times I was able to pass someone. Other than that, I was able to bring the car in one piece and we got as high as P2, so I'm pretty happy about that. This is my second race with the team and it just keeps getting better and better. I'm enjoying it every second and I'm just very grateful to be a part of it all. We got the most points that we could. We finished fifth today and we are still fourth in (LMP2) championship."

HAYDEN BURVILL, Krohn Racing, Engineer:
"We came, like we did at Silverstone, with the compressed weekend and there's not a lot of opportunity to be adventurous with how you tackle the set-up, particularly for us, the first time here with this car. It may even be the first time a JSP2 has ever run at Imola, so there's no background knowledge. We used the experience we do have in this series and put a pretty decent set-up on the car yesterday and we were satisfied with the pace we had. Again, we used the qualifying session as additional practice time for Tracy which, I think, pays off in the long run. It gives us the lower starting position, but actually Tracy's work to put us in tenth was also good because he showed some good lap speed with the extra practice time he was able to get in qualifying. Going into the race, we ran the same strategy, as far as driver rotation. We used Ozz to recover some of our starting grid deficit. The fuel consumption of the Judd meant that we could go slightly longer and you can see that we ran up a couple of laps longer than some of the other cars. Ozz did a great job, then we put Tracy back in on his qualifying tires. It was quite hot, but the Michelin tires that we ran were perfectly good and Tracy ran his fast times at the end of his stint. He found a good rhythm and was earning a couple seconds off the pace of the lead cars, which was very, very respectable. Then Nic got in the car and we had a slight issue with the radio, which complicated strategy a bit, but we had some good laps and, once again, were the first Michelin-shod car to finish. Fifth place finish was enough to maintain fourth place in the championship, which is very satisfying."

The next race for Krohn Racing will be 24 Hours of Le Mans in Le Mans, France on June 13-14. The ELMS schedule continues with the following races: Red Bull Ring, Austria, July 11-12; Paul Ricard, France, September 5-6; and Estoril, Portugal, October 17-18.
