Ferrari veteran Andrea Bertolini qualified the No. 57 Ferrari F458 during Friday's session, and longtime Krohn Racing driver Nic Jonsson was the starting driver. After Jonsson drove a shortened first stint, mostly under yellow, he handed the famous green-and-blue liveried Ferrari to team owner Tracy W. Krohn on Lap 15. With a large portion of the race driven under caution in the first six hours, the Krohn Racing team attempted to use every green lap to close the gap on their factory-backed competitors. However, this was no small feat in the ultra-competitive GTLM class, especially at the 17-turn, 3.74-mile Sebring circuit.
TRACY W. KROHN, Krohn Racing Team Owner/Driver, No. 57 Krohn Racing Ferrari F458 GTLM:
"The car has been behaving pretty well; it's just a lot of yellow flags. We kind of expected that. A lot of the cars in the race have never run here before and we were expecting some casualties from the track itself, aside from the racing. We've been solid and I enjoyed my first stint. We're all working together and the car is very good to drive right now."
NIC JONSSON, Driver, No. 57 Krohn Racing Ferrari F458 GTLM:
"During my first stint, we had started to get into our rhythm. Unfortunately, a Viper caught fire just half an hour into the race, and I was just sitting behind the pace car for a while. We decided to put Tracy in and since then we've been working really hard to stay out of trouble and keep the pace."
ANDREA BERTOLINI, Driver, No. 57 Krohn Racing Ferrari F458 GTLM:
"I drove two hours for my first stint, but honestly, I think I only did five or six green flag laps. There have been so many yellows, so it's been hard to catch up to the other cars out there. Our car feels really good and we're making progress to close the gap, so we're going to try to do our best and see what happens."
