Krohn Racing recently moved its race shop from Atlanta, Georgia to team owner Tracy W. Krohn's business base of Houston, Texas. Krohn and long-time racing partner, Risi Competizione, reached an agreement at the end of last season to provide technical assistance from Ferrari's most successful North American GT racing team to the No. 57 Krohn machine for selected 2014 events within the IMSA series.
With the Risi car still undergoing repairs before the second round of the IMSA TUDOR United SportsCar Championship at the 12 Hours of Sebring on Saturday, March 15, Malucelli will be working with Jönsson to fine-tune the Ferrari's set up ahead of one of the most punishingly bumpy venues on the calendar. Both Krohn Racing and Risi Competizione will be racing in the highly competitive manufacturer-led GTLM category.
Krohn Racing is also pleased to announce a new partnership with the Justice Brothers, Inc. for the 2014 IMSA TUDOR Championship season. This joint venture comes to fruition through a mutual love of motorsports, as the Justice Brothers have been huge supporters of racing through their more than 75 years in business. The company manufactures and distributes car care products, and has led the industry for decades. Krohn Racing is proud to display the Justice Brothers, Inc. logo on the No. 57 Krohn Racing Ferrari this season, and is looking forward to a successful partnership.
NIC JONSSON, driver, No. 57 Krohn Racing Ferrari F458 GTLM:
"Krohn Racing is happy to have Matteo joining us for the test, as it's always good to get a fresh perspective from our cockpit. Matteo obviously knows how to drive Ferraris, and he might be able to give us some pointers and help us get some reference points that I can add to. I'm looking forward to him getting some time in our Krohn car at the test and I'm really keen to hear any information he can offer about the car and the track. We're going to go through our normal test program for our Ferrari and make sure everything is in the condition we want for the race.
We're fortunate to have the technical support from Risi Competizione again, as we had for the 24 Hours of Daytona and will continue to have moving forward. It's always good to share information between two teams. Krohn Racing and Risi Competizione already share a workshop and we work together well. I think it's great that we can run two separate teams but under the same tent, because we can both learn so much from each other. We can have ears and eyes from every perspective. Our engineers, mechanics, and drivers can work together to get a well-balanced and fast car for the race."
Follow Krohn Racing at the Sebring test sessions on February 20th and 21st at Florida's 3.74-mile Sebring International Raceway. The next event for Krohn Racing following the Sebring Test will be the Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring on March 15th.
